While cleaning I decided to sort the mail i’ve collected over the years and came across this gem of a letter. My grandfather sent this to me while he lived in Long Beach, CA to Syosset, NY. A letter from an 82 year old man to his 11 year old grand-daughter:
보고싶은 Alexa에게,
Thanksgiving and Christmas Day 축하해요. Alexa 공부 잘 했어요, 할아버지 할머니도 많이 기뻐요. Alexa는 머리도 좋고 마음도 곱고 또 예수를 믿어서 하나님이 지혜를 주시고 몸도 건강하게 해주실거예요. 그리고 아빠, 엄마말 잘 듣고 공부 열심히 해요.
이곳 할아버지, 할머니도 건강하게 잘 있어요. 또 영은, 지은이 보고싶어요. 내년봄에 갈께요. 엄마 말 잘듣고 공부 잘 해요. 닦아오는 2000년, 을 바라보며 - 안녕.

1) My grandfather is totally tech savvy for typing this in korean and printing it on stationary in 1999.
2) That last line is golden.
3) Happy that my grandparents are still alive and well. ‘Tis awesome indeed.
